Machining Waspalloy

  • Cutting: WASPALLOY can be cut using conventional tools, but high-speed cutting methods are recommended to handle the alloy's strength.
  • Drilling: Utilize high-speed steel (HSS) or carbide-tipped drills for drilling WASPALLOY, ensuring proper cooling and lubrication to maintain tool life.
  • Turning: Carbide inserts are ideal for turning WASPALLOY. Consistent feed rates and cooling are important to achieve accurate dimensions and finish.
  • Milling: Milling operations should use carbide end mills and adequate cooling to manage heat and maintain precision during processing.
  • Grinding: For grinding WASPALLOY, use appropriate abrasive wheels and coolants to achieve tight tolerances and a high-quality surface finish.
